[Saba Sports News] On February 14, the Williams team unveiled their new F1 car FW47 for 2025, becoming the first team to launch a new car for the upcoming season. Before testing at Silverstone, the Williams team showcased the exclusive deep blue livery of the FW47. During an online launch event, the team revealed the design details of the FW47 for the first time and plans to conduct the car’s maiden test at the F1 British Grand Prix venue. This test will be presented via a live broadcast, with new addition Carlos Sainz being the first driver to pilot the car. Under the leadership of the team’s new principal James Vowles, the Williams team continues to push forward with its rebuilding efforts, successfully avoiding the embarrassment of having no car to showcase during last year’s launch season due to winter turmoil. Vowles is focused on reforming the team’s manufacturing processes, including changing the previous reliance on Microsoft Excel for certain aspects of car design. In previous interviews, Vowles has repeatedly emphasized that the Williams team is focused on medium to long-term development goals and has outlined a road map for the team’s return to championship contention, with a focus on the 2026, 2027, and 2028 seasons.
