[Saba Sports News] Red Bull rookie Liam Lawson made his debut alongside four-time world champion Max Verstappen in the 2025 F1 season, becoming Verstappen’s first-ever teammate younger than him. Prior to the race, there were high expectations for Lawson, the gifted driver. In response to speculation about whether he could outperform Verstappen, Lawson bluntly stated that anyone who thinks he could defeat Verstappen early in his career is foolish. Records show that Lawson had a brief stint with Red Bull’s sister team in 2023 and 2024, participating in only 11 Grand Prix races before being promoted to the Red Bull team. While he acknowledges that Verstappen is the team’s main competitor, he emphasizes that his primary goal at this stage is to learn from Verstappen and gain experience. In an interview, Lawson stated that he is well aware of his lack of experience at the moment, and his goal for the 2025 season is to accumulate experience and help Verstappen defend his F1 world championship title.
