[Saba Sports News] Luka Doncic continues to be an absolute menace on the hardwood.
The Dallas Mavericks star went viral Wednesday night for some savage trash talk during the first quarter of a game against the Denver Nuggets. With LeBron James sidelined due to a groin injury, Doncic wasted no time putting on a show, racking up 20 points in just the first 7.5 minutes.
Toward the end of the quarter, after drawing a foul from Nuggets two-way player Spencer Jones, Doncic stepped to the line. He missed the first free throw, prompting someone in the Crypto.com Arena crowd to yell, “Ball don’t lie!”
Doncic, never one to let things slide, fired back instantly, “I got 20, you’re talking about ball don’t lie.”
He then calmly knocked down the second shot, adding extra ice to the moment.
If it was a Lakers fan trying to rattle him, it definitely backfired. Doncic ended the half with 25 points as the Lakers led the short-handed Nuggets (missing both Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray) 73-59. It also added another clip to Doncic’s growing trash talk highlight reel—something Kevin Durant and the Suns got a taste of earlier this week, too.
