[Saba Sports News] Mercedes driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli achieved an impressive fourth-place finish in his debut at the 2025 Australian Grand Prix. Team principal Toto Wolff believes Antonelli got the result he deserved. He noted that it was exciting to see Antonelli steadily closing the gap to the cars ahead, gradually but firmly reducing the distance, and making almost no mistakes—despite a minor slip. Wolff specifically pointed out that Antonelli’s race pace was “impressive,” and his confidence and decisiveness while overtaking were “outstanding.” Under extremely challenging conditions, he handled all difficulties, showcasing maturity beyond his years. Antonelli’s climb from 16th to 4th makes him the first driver since 2015 to break into the top 5 in his F1 debut. Given that other rookies faced retirements, this achievement is remarkable and proves his exceptional skills in car handling, race strategy execution, and pressure management.
