[Saba Sports News] Isiah Thomas didn’t hold back in criticizing LeBron James for what he saw as a lack of professionalism during pregame warmups.
The Hall of Famer took issue with James appearing shirtless while warming up ahead of the Lakers’ game against the Houston Rockets, calling the move inappropriate for an NBA setting.
“I just totally, 100% object to this,” Thomas said. “If I were the GM or coach, I would never let a player walk out like this. This is the professional NBA—not summer league, not the YMCA. The level of professionalism in this league has dropped so much.”
While acknowledging that he’s a fan of LeBron, Thomas still blasted the act: “To walk out before a game with no shirt on? Come on, man. Where are we at?”
Thomas even suggested that NBA Commissioner Adam Silver should fine James over the stunt.
The comments came during NBA TV’s halftime show for Friday’s Bucks-Pistons broadcast, as the panel previewed the upcoming Lakers-Rockets game.
Few players have the stature—or boldness—to take public shots at LeBron, but Thomas, known for his ongoing feud with Michael Jordan, once again showed he’s unafraid to speak out against even the game’s biggest stars.
