[Saba Sports News] Jaylen Brown was locked in during the first half of Wednesday night’s playoff showdown.
The Boston Celtics forward made headlines in Game 2 of their second-round series against the New York Knicks at TD Garden with a fiery moment in the second quarter.
Isolated against Knicks guard Josh Hart, Brown hit him with a slick series of moves and drilled a tough turnaround jumper — plus the foul. As he walked away, Brown was caught on the TNT broadcast shouting a five-word expletive at Hart: “You can’t f— with me.”
The moment quickly went viral, as Brown’s intensity helped set the tone for a bounce-back performance. The Celtics, coming off a humiliating Game 1 loss in which they blew a 20-point lead and made unwanted playoff history, were much sharper in Game 2. They led 50-41 at halftime, with Brown scoring 17 points on 7-of-16 shooting and Derrick White adding 14 of his own.
With the next two games shifting to New York, Wednesday’s contest was a virtual must-win for Boston. As for Hart, he’s known for his gritty defense and ability to get under opponents’ skin — something that may have fueled Brown’s fiery response. In a previous Celtics-Knicks clash, Hart also drew criticism online for a questionable play.
