[Saba Sports News] Lando Norris is facing one of the most severe psychological crises of his career. With teammate Oscar Piastri leading the championship standings with a four-race advantage, F1 insiders are unanimously urging the British driver to immediately recruit Sebastian Vettel or Nico Rosberg as a “mental coach,” otherwise he will lose all hope of winning the title. Former F1 driver Timo Glock stated in a podcast: “Norris’s biggest enemy is not Piastri but his own inner monologue of self-doubt during every race.” The contrast in their psychological battles is stark: Piastri has F1 champion mentor Mark Webber guiding him throughout, while Norris frequently appears on the radio saying things like “I messed up” and “I’m not good enough,” comments even criticized by rival Max Verstappen as inappropriate for a championship contender. More fatally, Norris has repeatedly missed opportunities at critical moments this season due to indecision. For this, Nico Rosberg revealed that the secret to his victory over Lewis Hamilton in 2016 was two hours of daily psychological training. Norris needs to stop those self-denying mantras.
