[Saba Sports News] The FIFA Club World Cup is currently taking place in the U.S., with many strong teams already in the knockout stage. However, the attendance for some less-known teams has been very low. For example, the match between Argentine side River Plate and Japanese team Sanfrecce Hiroshima had a minimum ticket price of just 24. The game between Paris Saint−Germain and Brazilian club Botafogo at the Rose Bowlin Pasadena had a minimum ticket price of 33. Matches such as Benfica vs. Oakland, Palmeiras vs. Al Ahly, Ulsan Hyundai vs. Mamelodi Sundowns, and Mamelodi vs. Fluminense saw ticket prices ranging from 26 to 40, raising concerns about empty seats. The main reason for the poor ticket sales is the lack of international superstars in some matches, as well as possible large gaps in team strength, leading to less exciting play and fewer goals. Additionally, players are exhausted after a demanding season and must compete in the Club World Cup, which might affect their performance and reduce the appeal of the tournament.
