[Saba Sports News] The 2026 F1 season is set to bring major changes. Recently, some media reported that Mercedes may once again dominate the field with its engine advantage. During an interview, Red Bull Racing advisor Helmut Marco was asked about this claim and called it nonsense. Marco stated, “Mercedes is branding itself as the biggest favorite, but I don’t see any evidence.” He revealed that Red Bull has made smooth progress in developing its power unit, especially in collaboration with partners Ford and Exxon, which has yielded tangible results. Marco explained that the key to the 2026 season’s success does not lie solely in the internal combustion engine, but also in batteries and fuel, which are currently areas of major focus for Red Bull. The editor believes that F1 team performance is influenced by various factors, and engine performance is just one part. Aerodynamics, driver skill, and team strategy also play important roles in race outcomes. Even if Mercedes has an advantage in engines, it cannot be concluded that it will dominate the 2026 season.
