[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, a fan disguised as singer Ed Sheeran snuck into Old Trafford but was ultimately identified by Manchester United staff. Manchester United’s security was tight enough to uncover an Ed Sheeran impersonator, but only after the individual had entered Old Trafford with camera equipment and attempted to film behind the scenes following the victory over Burnley. The impersonator and their entourage held match tickets and gained access to the stadium’s hospitality areas after security checks confirmed their camera equipment did not pose a safety risk. However, when club officials realized they had not received any notification of Ed Sheeran attending the match and the group began filming, senior staff intervened to inquire. It was eventually confirmed that they did not have permission to film and the individual was not the pop superstar. Reports indicate that upon checking Ed Sheeran’s schedule, Manchester United found he was supposed to be performing his world tour in Copenhagen that evening, and when the impersonator attempted to sing to prove their identity, it provided the final piece of evidence. It is understood this was a social media stunt; sources stated the group was politely told to stop filming but was allowed to remain in the stadium to watch the match.
