[Saba Sports News] Recently, Liam Lawson highlighted the stark contrast in reactions between himself and Carlos Sainz after their collision at the Dutch Grand Prix. He expressed surprise that Sainz, despite his intense reaction, did not seek a private conversation with him. After the early safety car restart, Sainz attempted to overtake Lawson on the outside of Turn 1. Lawson experienced a slight slip, leading to contact between the two, which resulted in both drivers dropping to the back of the pack due to car damage. Sainz was deemed responsible for the collision and received a 10-second time penalty – a decision the Spanish driver disputed, blaming Lawson instead. Lawson emphasized that although he felt he missed out on a career-best performance at Zandvoort, he made an effort to control his emotions. Additionally, Lawson stated he was surprised Sainz did not approach him privately: “I haven’t heard anything from him. Given how angry he was, I thought he might want to talk to me about it, but he hasn’t reached out.”
