[Saba Sports News] The Thailand SEA Games will commence in mid-December. The Badminton Association of Malaysia has recently announced its preparation squad, opting to field a full-strength team. The list includes the current world No. 2 Malaysian men’s doubles pair and the mixed doubles champions from this year’s Paris Badminton Championships. The Badminton Association of Malaysia has a clear goal: to end the 33-year Thomas Cup drought, for which it has launched the “Tangkis 2030 Plan”. The Thailand SEA Games are seen as a crucial part of the preparation for the 2026 Thomas Cup. Team competitions like the SEA Games help foster team spirit, improve coordination and understanding among players, and lay a solid foundation for the Thomas Cup. However, it is worth noting that the schedule of the 33rd Southeast Asian Games conflicts with the BWF World Tour Finals, which may impact the Malaysian players’ schedules and physical conditioning. The players face the challenge of competing in two major tournaments consecutively within a short period, requiring careful management of their physical stamina and injury prevention.
