Sports News] Lorient fans recently expressed their dissatisfaction with the
team’s poor performance by dumping 400 kilograms of rotten fish at the entrance
of the team’s training center as a form of protest. In the 17th round of Ligue
1, Lorient suffered a 0-4 defeat against Brest. Currently, Lorient find
themselves second from the bottom in the Ligue 1 standings, which has greatly
disappointed the fans. Merlus Ultras 1995, an extreme fan organization in
Lorient, organized the protest by bringing 20 fans to the club’s training base
and dumping 400 kilograms of rotten fish at the entrance, accompanied by signs
that read, “It sucks just like you.” While it is understandable that fans
are frustrated with the team’s performance, engaging in these types of
destructive actions is not conducive to positive outcomes. In times of a team’s
low performance, it is crucial for fans to provide support and encouragement
rather than resorting to extreme measures. Such behavior is unlikely to yield
any positive effects for the team.
