[Saba Sports News] According to French media reports, Paul Pogba has recently invested in a Saudi camel racing team, becoming both a shareholder and ambassador. This move quickly drew sharp criticism from the animal rights organization PETA. The French branch of PETA issued a strongly worded open letter pointing out the cruel realities hidden behind the camel racing industry, including young camels being forcibly separated from their mothers, undergoing mandatory training, frequently getting injured, and being slaughtered after losing their usefulness.In the letter, PETA sarcastically suggested to Pogba that if he is interested in equestrian sports, he might as well try wooden horse riding, as it is an entirely harmless alternative that does not involve animal exploitation. In response, Pogba has not directly addressed the criticism but has expressed admiration for the “determination, discipline, and perseverance” demonstrated in camel racing, believing it shares similarities with football. He even stated his hope to one day own “the world’s most expensive camel,” as a reflection of his status among the world’s highest-paid players.
