[Saba Sports News] In the 15th round of the Bundesliga, Dortmund won 2-0 against Borussia Mönchengladbach. Notably, Karim Adeyemi was very dissatisfied after being substituted midway through the match, and his emotional reaction drew criticism from the public. In response, Dortmund’s sporting director Sebastian Kehl confirmed that Adeyemi would face punishment.
After the match, Kehl stated in an interview, “The decision to substitute him was completely reasonable; his performance was poor, so he will be fined. Further communication on this matter is needed. His reaction is something I, the head coach, and the entire team do not want to see.”
Additionally, Dortmund’s coach Niko Kovač expressed support for the club’s decision in a post-match interview, saying, “This is the club’s decision, and I accept it; I also believe it’s the right one. Emotions are certainly part of football, and that’s normal. I think if Adeyemi watches the game again, he’ll see that it was indeed one of his poorer performances. He must learn to cope with such situations, and we also need to address them accordingly.”
I wonder what Dortmund fans think about this situation?
