Sports News] According to Spanish media reports, the local government in
Catalonia, Spain, may declare a drought emergency due to the severe problems of
high temperatures and lack of rainfall in the region. If Catalonia is indeed
declared a drought emergency, it is anticipated that several Catalan teams in
La Liga, including Barcelona, Girona, and Espanyol, may face restrictions on
using water. This could result in players being unable to shower at the club facilities
and having to return home for bathing. However, the stadiums will still be
allowed to use water for sprinkling the turf. Despite entering the month of
December, Spain is experiencing unseasonably warm weather, with the southern
part of the country affected by hot air. In recent days, temperatures have
reached 30 degrees Celsius, which is 2 degrees higher than the previous highest
recorded for the same period in previous years, indicating abnormal climate
conditions.
