(SabaSports) Liverpool visit promoted Ipswich in the first leg of the 2024-25 English Premier League season. It was 0-0 in the first half. A second-half cross from Mohamed Salah and a second-half goal from Diogo Jota gave Liverpool a 2-0 win over Ipswich Town to get the new season off to a flying start.

The match was not only the opening of a new season but also Ipswich’s first appearance back in the Premier League after a 22-year hiatus. For Liverpool, new manager Arne Slot has his first Premier League game in charge.
Liverpool’s starting lineup was largely a throwback to the classic 4-3-3 formation of former manager Jurgen Klopp. With Alisson Becker in goal and Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson on either side, Virgil van Dijk played alongside Ibrahima Konate in central defence. In midfield, Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai joined up with Ryan Gravenberch, while up front, Salah, making his 350th appearance for Liverpool, led on the right, with Luis Diaz on the left and Jota at centre-forward.
