[Saba Sports News] Team India is currently on an all-format tour of South Africa. As the white-ball leg has ended, the caravan will move to the two-match Test series with the first of these fixtures scheduled to start on December 26 in the SuperSport Park, Centurion.
The T20I series ended in a draw, while India won the ODI series with a scoreline of 2-1.
Before the first Test, India are preparing in Pretoria. The hosts are playing an intra-squad game, which runs from December 20 to December 22. The first day of the fixture got washed out due to rain.
As the clear weather allowed play to happen on Thursday, Shubman Gill, who will bat at number three for India in the Tests, scored a hundred, reported Revsportz.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, who will open along with captain Rohit Sharma, smashed an unbeaten fifty. He was called by the team management to give enough practice time to the other players.
Notably, India have never won a Test series in South Africa and would hope to end their unwanted streak in the upcoming series.
