[Saba Sports News] According to Italian media reports, AC Milan is close to reaching a contract termination agreement with Divock Origi. Origi has long been out of AC Milan’s plans but still holds the contract he signed in 2022. This contract is very lucrative, with a net annual salary of €4 million (approximately €5.2 million gross due to tax benefits), valid until the summer of 2026. Origi has been enjoying this €4 million salary without making any further appearances for AC Milan. His last official appearance for AC Milan was on May 28, 2023, in a league match against Juventus, where he played for 4 minutes. Subsequently, Origi was loaned to Nottingham Forest and has not played for AC Milan since, becoming virtually invisible. Now, the parties are finally nearing a separation. As early as June, Origi was spotted at the AC Milan headquarters discussing termination, but no agreement was reached between the club and the player. It was initially expected that a final agreement would be reached in January 2026, but the process has now accelerated, and the parties may end their relationship early. It is reported that only some legal details remain to be settled before Origi and AC Milan can part ways ahead of schedule. The exact amount AC Milan can save is difficult to estimate, as the club must weigh the remaining wages against the severance payment to be made to Origi.
