[Saba Sports News]South Korean badminton star An Se-young, who won the women’s singles title at the Sudirman Cup this year, has been performing very strongly. After the match, she discussed her recent life during an interview with the media. She mentioned that she had been learning English for about half a year but felt that she had not made much progress. She frankly said, “Learning English is more difficult than learning badminton.” She learned English to make more friends from other countries. She explained: “When communicating with others, I don’t know those words, don’t understand their meanings, and can’t remember them either, which makes me stuck in my thoughts, forgetting which word to use. But I will continue to work hard on it.” An Se-young has shown extraordinary talent in the badminton field, and after years of training and competitions, she has achieved excellent results. This shows that she not only has talent but also has a strong interest and passion for badminton. Interest also motivates her to overcome difficulties in training more actively. For English, she may not have the same level of talent as she does for badminton or may not initially have had a particularly strong interest. She started learning it just to make foreign friends. When encountering difficulties in the learning process, it becomes easier for her to feel discouraged.
