[Saba Sports News] As Andre Drummond seeks to avoid being traded, he faces a new concern. The NBA fined the Chicago Bulls center $15,000 for making an inappropriate gesture during their overtime victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday. The gesture, made in the final moments of the OT, contributed to Chicago’s 129-123 win after coming back from a 23-point deficit.
Drummond, a former All-Star, celebrated a successful play with the “big balls” dance, a move made famous by Sam Cassell. In addition to his celebration, Drummond, who tallied 16 points and 16 rebounds, also taunted Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert with a “too small” gesture during the game.
Despite Drummond’s on-court success, the NBA maintains a strict policy against the Cassell dance, leading to his fine. Drummond is now among the numerous NBA players penalized for performing the controversial celebration.
