[Saba Sports News] Los Angeles Lakers center Anthony Davis was forced to leave the game against the Golden State Warriors after suffering an eye injury. The incident occurred shortly before the end of the first quarter at Crypto.com Arena, where Davis seemed to receive an inadvertent poke in the eye from Warriors player Trayce Jackson-Davis.
The discomfort was evident as Davis’s left eye began swelling, leading to his early exit. Subsequently, he was diagnosed with a corneal abrasion and did not return to the game. Prior to the injury, there were concerns about Davis’s availability due to an Achilles issue, but he started the game and accumulated 8 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists in nearly 12 minutes.
This season had been one of Davis’s healthiest with the Lakers, having played in 64 of their 68 games, marking his most appearances since the 2017-18 season with the New Orleans Pelicans.
