[Saba Sports News] During an All-Star weekend interview on SiriusXM NBA Radio, Lakers’ Anthony Davis shared his experiences playing alongside LeBron James, arguably one of the greatest basketball players. Davis highlighted how LeBron has significantly impacted his career by opening up opportunities on the court, a situation he deeply appreciates.
Davis recounted a conversation from his first year with the Lakers, where LeBron assured him that the pressure was on LeBron himself, not Davis. This support allowed Davis to play more freely. Additionally, during a period marked by injuries and Davis’s frustration, LeBron encouraged him, advising that things would improve and urged Davis to return stronger and healthier to pursue their goals together.
Davis joined the Lakers in 2019 through a major trade from the New Orleans Pelicans, with expectations already high due to LeBron’s presence and the team’s championship ambitions. LeBron, a three-time champion, emphasized that Davis’s role was to excel on the court, which significantly contributed to the Lakers winning the championship shortly thereafter in 2020.
However, despite this success, the duo has faced challenges in replicating their championship-winning performance, leading to speculation about their future success together.
