Sports News] On November 17, the Football Association officially announced
charges against Mikel Arteta for his post-match remarks. However, a few days
ago, the Football Association of England issued a statement stating that Arteta
would not be punished for his comments. The independent regulatory committee
found that the allegation against Arteta for breaching FA Rule E3.1 was not
substantiated. In Arsenal’s 0-1 loss to Newcastle United last month, there was
controversy surrounding Anthony Gordon’s goal. After the match, Arteta
expressed his frustration, stating, “We should not lose the game like
this. We lost obviously because of that penalty, which is sad. A shame is a
disgrace.” However, Arteta clarified his remarks in the report submitted
to the independent regulatory committee. He explained that what he intended to
convey was not “disgrace” but rather the Spanish word
“desgracia,” which means “unlucky.” Arteta emphasized that
his comments were not intended to be insulting and that the English
interpretation may have led to misunderstanding.
