[Saba Sports News] According to the Daily Mail, Aston Martin’s commercial and marketing director, Jefferson Slack, disclosed to potential investors that four-time F1 world champion Max Verstappen will join the team for £1 billion. It is reported that this amount is not a salary for a single season but rather a multi-year contract. The report also states that Verstappen is “almost certain” to have equity in the team, with an annual salary reaching £200 million. However, Aston Martin executives strongly denied this claim, stating that the pitch to potential investors is a “firm desire, not a certain fact,” and that they have signed long-term contracts with two current F1 drivers. According to information, Aston Martin will field the driver pairing of Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll again in the 2025 F1 season, with both contracts extending to 2026; meanwhile, Verstappen’s contract with Red Bull F1 runs until the end of the 2028 season.
