[Saba Sports News] According to German media reports, Bayern Munich has significantly exceeded the salary saving target set by the club. Last spring, the supervisory board internally announced that Sporting Director Max Eberl needed to save approximately 20% in salary costs. Karl-Heinz Rummenigge even publicly stated that financially, high salaries are Bayern Munich’s main problem, not high transfer fees. German media has learned that Bayern Munich has now even exceeded this savings goal. However, the other side of the coin is that the actual amount saved was significantly reduced due to the lucrative contract extensions signed by Jamal Musiala and Alphonso Davies. Potential new loan signings could further reduce these savings. Nevertheless, the target of reducing the salary cost by 20% has been significantly exceeded. It is reported that Bayern Munich could undergo a major squad restructuring in the summer of 2026, as previously hinted by honorary president Uli Hoenes. Now, Bayern Munich has created the necessary financial room to maneuver.
