[Saba Sports News] Caitlin Clark is aiming to cement her legacy as the greatest WNBA player ever, but when it comes to the NBA, she already knows who holds that title.
In a recent appearance on David Letterman’s Netflix series My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, the Indiana Fever star named LeBron James as her NBA “GOAT.” Clark praised the Lakers legend for his sustained excellence, impact on the game, and ability to exceed the enormous expectations placed on him since high school.
“LeBron is, like, the greatest player of all-time,” Clark said. “He’s still one of the best players, if not the best player in the world … It’s incredible what he’s done for the game of basketball and the way he’s carried himself. I’ve always been a fan of him.”
Born in 2002, Clark essentially grew up watching James dominate the league, so her choice is no surprise. There also seems to be a mutual respect between the two, with James previously defending Clark publicly amid criticism.
While the GOAT debate varies depending on the era—older fans may side with Michael Jordan or Kareem Abdul-Jabbar—Clark’s pick is clear: for her, LeBron James stands alone at the top.
