[Saba Sports News] The 2025 China Badminton Masters recently commenced at the Shenzhen Sports Centre Gymnasium. As a BWF World Tour Super 750 event, it offers the highest prize money among the six tournaments of this level in the annual calendar. The champions in the men’s and women’s singles will receive $87,500, while the winners in the three doubles events will get $92,500 each. All players/teams reaching the round of 32 will secure $1,250. The round of 16 offers $3,750 for singles and $4,062.50 for doubles per pair. Quarter-finalists earn $6,875 (singles) and $7,812.50 (doubles per pair). Semi-finalists in both singles and doubles receive $17,500. The runners-up prizes are $42,500 for singles and $43,750 for doubles per pair. The prize distribution shows a clear tiered structure, ensuring corresponding financial returns for players at different levels. However, compared to more commercialized sports like tennis or basketball, the total prize money for badminton tournaments still lags significantly. For instance, a Grand Slam tennis singles champion can win over $3 million, and even the lowest-level international tennis tournaments offer far higher prizes than comparable badminton events.
