[Saba Sports News] Previously, the Korean Badminton Association was embroiled in a scandal due to allegations of disrespecting players, particularly concerning An Se-young. Although the association later stated that they had reconciled with An, she still harbors discontent. Recently, it seems that another scandal has emerged involving the Korean Badminton Association, which has been accused of allowing players like An Se-young to shoot advertisements for sponsors without their consent and without compensating them for their participation, leading to public outcry that the association treats players as free labor. It is reported that not all promotional activities for the Korean Badminton Association are free; aside from charity work, participating in sponsor advertisements helps cover players’ overseas travel and training expenses, so filming fees are not without cost. Additionally, it is worth mentioning that last year, 20 players participated in sponsor advertisements during the Asian Games, and 11 players appeared in ads for this year’s Paris Olympics, but none received compensation for their participation.
