[Saba Sports News] Veteran forward Doug McDermott has joined a new NBA team, finalizing a 1-year deal with the Sacramento Kings, as reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania.
McDermott, known for his three-point shooting, played 64 games off the bench last season, hitting 43.9 percent of his threes with the Spurs before being traded to the Pacers in February.
However, his shooting dropped to 32.1 percent from beyond the arc in 18 games with Indiana. This marks his second stint with the Pacers, having previously played there from 2018 to 2021.
A career 41-percent three-point shooter, McDermott averaged 5.5 points over 14.1 minutes per game last season.
He brings strong floor-spacing ability to the Kings, who are aiming for their second playoff appearance in three seasons after back-to-back winning seasons for the first time since 2005-06.
