[Saba Sports News] French F1 driver Esteban Ocon, in an interview with AUTOSPORT, was asked if he regretted leaving the Alpine F1 team. Ocon stated that he had given everything for the team and had no regrets about leaving. He then analyzed the reasons for Alpine F1 team’s decline. Ocon mentioned that the questions he raised to the team were always ignored, and effective communication was not possible, which frustrated him. Data shows that Ocon has been with the Alpine F1 team since 2020, totaling four and a half seasons. During this time, the performance of the Alpine F1 team has stagnated and even deteriorated from 4th place in the constructors’ standings in 2022 to the current 8th place. This year, the team has only scored 11 points, marking Renault’s worst performance since returning to F1 as a manufacturer team in 2016. According to statistics, Ocon has experienced a series of changes within Alpine, especially in the management level, with 12 team leaders and 5 technical directors leaving. The frequent changes in high-level positions have made communication between the team and the driver difficult.
