For many teams, it is their home race, providing an opportunity to impress their fans. Williams Racing recently announced that F2 champion Franco Colapinto will drive Logan Sargeant’s FW46 car in the first free practice session of the British Grand Prix. The 21-year-old Argentine driver, a member of the Williams Racing Drivers Academy program, currently holds the fifth position in the FIA F2 Championship standings after a strong start to his rookie season. Colapinto previously participated in the Abu Dhabi young driver test last year and gained experience driving F1 cars. However, this will be his first F1 race weekend. Reflecting on his debut, Colapinto expressed a mix of emotions, stating that this moment is significant in his life and career. He is fully prepared, studying the details necessary to drive this year’s car and conducting extensive testing on the simulator.
