[Saba Sports News] According to Italian media reports, Ferrari’s 2025 F1 car (codename “Project 677”) successfully passed the FIA crash test before Christmas, making it the first F1 team to pass the 2025 FIA crash test. Project 677 features a redesigned chassis with a re-positioned cockpit and a shorter gearbox, optimizing weight distribution and maximizing tire performance. Typically, teams spend more time designing and tuning their cars, usually passing the FIA crash test just a few weeks before pre-season testing, which means that passing the crash test is often just a formality. Once a team passes the crash test, they cannot modify the car’s hardware. Some media have interpreted this early completion of the crash test as a positive signal, indicating that the Ferrari team is confident about the new season. In many ways, the Ferrari team is willing to implement substantial changes to demonstrate progress under the leadership of team principal Fred Vasseur.
