[Saba Sports News] Recently, US second-tier league team Miami FC officially announced the dismissal of head coach Antonio Nocerino, a former Italian international and AC Milan player. The 39-year-old Nocerino took over Miami FC in November last year and led the team in 33 official matches in 2024, including 32 in the USL and one in the US Open Cup, with a record of only 3 wins, 2 draws, and 28 losses. After losing 28 matches in a year, Miami FC ultimately decided to fire Nocerino. Before Nocerino took charge, Miami FC was mostly mid-table in the standings; however, they currently sit at the bottom of the Eastern Conference with only 11 points from 32 matches, trailing second-to-last by 29 points. During his playing career, Nocerino played for several teams including Juventus, Genoa, Palermo, AC Milan, West Ham, Parma, and Orlando City. After retiring, Nocerino immediately joined MLS team Orlando’s youth training for two years as a coach before briefly returning to Serie A as head coach of a Serie C team before moving to Miami FC at the end of last year.
