[Saba Sports News] Alpine’s Pierre Gasly finished second to last at the F1 Singapore Grand Prix, only ahead of his teammate, describing the race as “boring.” Gasly stated post-race: “Starting from the pit lane, spending 50 laps behind another car’s rear wing, it was really a boring race.” When asked how physically challenging the race was for him, considering Singapore’s typically tough conditions, Gasly added: “It was okay. We were so slow that there was hardly any physical exertion. We knew it would be tough starting from the pit lane, but racing like this really isn’t much fun. I just wasn’t competitive enough to fight. It’s a bit frustrating.” He continued: “Honestly, the recent weekends haven’t been good enough. Even considering our lack of competitiveness, it feels like we haven’t executed things properly. We’ve sat down with the team to discuss it; everyone is united. I think looking at the track characteristics, we should improve soon.” When asked how he maintained focus while battling at the back of the pack, the French driver concluded: “You still have to try, you still have to put pressure on the drivers ahead, you still have to force them into mistakes. Ultimately, that’s what you do, but there are many things we need to discuss with the team. I think in the end, we were just too slow, and that made both Saturday and Sunday very difficult.”
