[Saba Sports News] On the evening of March 10, the Badminton World Federation officially confirmed the list of teams participating in the Sudirman Cup World Badminton Mixed Team Championships, which will be held in Xiamen, China from April 27 to May 4 this year. The German team, which originally qualified through the semifinals of the European Badminton Mixed Team Championships, withdrew from the competition. The event organizers subsequently invited higher-ranked European teams, including Spain and the Netherlands, but both declined. Ultimately, the Czech Republic, which ranked next in line, accepted the invitation and gained entry into the competition. The qualification rules for the Sudirman Cup are as follows: the defending champion, host nation, the top four teams from the Asian and European Mixed Team Championships, as well as the champions from the African, Oceanian, and Pan-American Mixed Team Championships; the remaining spots are filled by teams with the highest ranking points as of February 18, 2025. Since the Chinese team is both the host and the defending champion, two additional spots were allocated to Asia, which were awarded to South Korea and Malaysia.
