[Saba Sports News] Amid a storm of offseason trade rumors, Giannis Antetokounmpo appears to be leaning into the chaos—with a grin.
On a recent episode of his self-titled podcast, former Milwaukee Bucks guard Patrick Beverley shared a theory about his ex-teammate. Addressing the growing speculation that Antetokounmpo might want out of Milwaukee, Beverley dismissed the rumors as likely nonsense.
“There’s gonna be a ton of reports,” Beverley said. “Giannis doesn’t talk to anybody in the media—except his brother \[Thanasis]. And if he does, it’s to send dad jokes.”
Beverley went on to call Antetokounmpo one of the biggest trolls he’s encountered in the NBA, right up there with Joel Embiid. He believes all the buzz about Giannis’ future might just be a well-played prank by the Greek Freak himself.
Antetokounmpo seemed to confirm that theory on Monday by reacting to a clip of the podcast with a telling comment: “Life is more fun that way,” he wrote, punctuated with a laughing emoji.
Following Milwaukee’s early playoff exit and a major injury to co-star Damian Lillard—who may miss the entire upcoming season—rumors have swirled about Giannis’ next move. A surprise visit to another NBA star and a cryptic social media post have only added fuel to the fire.
But if Antetokounmpo’s latest response is any indication, he’s not looking to escape Milwaukee—he’s just having fun watching everyone else lose their minds.
