Sports News] According to reports from French media, Fabio Grosso is preparing
to claim 1.5 million to 2 million euros for his remaining salary from the Lyon
club. Grosso took on the role of Lyon coach in September of this year, and both
parties signed a contract that was set to expire in June 2024. However, due to
poor performance, Grosso was officially relieved of his duties on November 30.
Currently, Lyon are ranked 15th in the Ligue 1 standings. It is reported that
Grosso has had a strained relationship with senior management at Lyon, with
players even witnessing arguments between the two sides. Grosso is now
preparing to seek compensation from the Lyon club, which includes not only his
own salary but also the salaries of his four assistant coaches for the
remaining duration of their contracts. Lyon are expected to pay Grosso a
compensation amount ranging from 1.5 million to 2 million euros. It is worth
noting that during his time coaching Lyon, Grosso was subjected to an incident
where he was hit in the face with rocks by Marseille fans, requiring more than
10 stitches. Given these circumstances, it is argued that Grosso deserves the
requested compensation.
