[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Manchester United has officially signed 16-year-old goalkeeper Charlie Hardy. United had been waiting for approval from the Premier League regarding this transfer, and the deal is now finalized. Reports indicate that Charlie Hardy initially signed a scholarship agreement with Manchester United and made his appearance at Carrington with Steve Higham, the head of their youth academy operations, who presented the young player with a Manchester United suit. It is worth noting that scholarship agreements are offered to promising young players and mark an important step toward potentially receiving a professional contract, which can be signed at the age of 17. Hardy wrote on his personal social media, “I am very proud to sign with Manchester United; the hard work won’t stop.” Last season, the 16-year-old goalkeeper played for Derby County’s U18 team and represented England’s U16 team. This summer, Hardy announced he would be leaving Derby County, stating on his social media: “After nearly ten years at Derby County, it’s time to start a new chapter. My nine years here have been incredible. I just want to thank everyone at the club who has supported me and helped me grow into the player and person I am today. I am grateful for all the memories created here and thank my teammates who have fought alongside me. I wish everyone at the club all the best for the future.” Hardy is expected to play for Manchester United’s U18 team.
