[Saba Sports News] According to German media reports, the hotel co-owned by Bayern Munich star Manuel Neuer has suffered significant water damage due to flooding. A burst shower pipe in an vacant attic room caused major water damage at the Forsthaus Valepp hotel on August 7th. For a month, drying equipment has been continuously in use at Neuer’s hotel. Parts of the interior need restoration, and walls had to be opened up for repairs. Neuer’s business partner, Johannes Rabl, confirmed to the media: “A large volume of water seeped into the historic walls and ceilings. The amount of damage? In the high hundreds of thousands of euros!” Neuer and Rabl had previously invested €6 million in a two-year renovation of the 184-year-old Forsthaus Valepp hotel. The building, originally under state forestry administration, faced many restrictions from heritage conservation authorities. For the restoration work, Neuer and Rabl received the Miesbach 2024 Heritage Conservation Award. The hotel, open for a year, is popular with cyclists and hikers, and even German politician Friedrich Merz has visited. Rabl stated: “Thank God, we are fully insured, and the outdoor operations were unaffected.” While the indoor dining area and guest rooms are closed, the beer garden remains open for food and drinks. The problem is that operations were affected for almost the entire Bavarian summer vacation period, and construction is expected to last at least throughout September.
