[Saba Sports News] After receiving an invitation from the Badminton Association of India a month ago, Indonesian men’s singles head coach Irwan Shah has finally been moved by their sincerity and confirmed his appointment as the head coach of the Indian men’s singles team. In an interview, Irwan expressed his desire to try new challenges and to live abroad with his family to gain more experience. Therefore, the whole family decided to accept the coaching offer from the Indian Badminton Association. Irwan revealed that his contract with the Indonesian Badminton Association’s men’s singles head coach will expire at the end of this month, and he has received coaching offers from several countries recently, expressing gratitude for the trust shown to him. Subsequently, Irwan began to vent his frustrations in front of the media, revealing that another reason for his decision was the unclear future prospects of the Indonesian Badminton Association. It turns out that the association unexpectedly excluded him from the coaching team for the China Masters and the BWF Tour Finals without notification, and has yet to explain the reasons, which made Irwan very angry. Some fans expressed that although Irwan led the Indonesian team to many achievements, he failed to help Jonatan Christie and Anthony Sinisuka Ginting win medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics, and it seems the Indonesian team did not want to continue hiring him but felt uncomfortable saying so, thus opting for a cold treatment approach.
