[Saba Sports News] With Bojan Bogdanovic, Alec Burks, and Shake Milton now on different teams, the New York Knicks are working to maintain shooting strength on the wing.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Knicks have signed veteran guard Landry Shamet to a one-year deal in free agency.
Shamet, 27, was a first-round pick in the 2018 NBA Draft (No. 26 overall) and has played for Knicks rivals like the Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets. Standing at 6-foot-4, Shamet has built a reputation as a reliable shooter, with a career 38.4% three-point average.
Though he struggled last season with the Washington Wizards, averaging 7.1 points and shooting 33.8% from three, Shamet is likely to thrive in New York’s healthier offense. He joins a Knicks squad that may still pursue further upgrades in the trade market.
