[Saba Sports News] Philadelphia native Kyle Lowry is staying put.
Shams Charania of The Athletic reported Thursday that the six-time All-Star point guard has agreed to return to the 76ers. Lowry, who joined the team mid-season last year, will continue his partnership with them.
At 38, Lowry has 18 seasons of NBA experience. He was still productive for Philly in 2023-24, averaging 8.0 points and 4.6 assists per game with 44/40/85 shooting splits.
There was speculation that Lowry might join a Western Conference playoff team in free agency, but he has chosen to remain with the 76ers. He will continue backing up Tyrese Maxey on a revamped team that recently added Paul George on a max contract and is aiming for an NBA championship.
