[Saba Sports News] LeBron James is laying down the law for his son Bronny as they prepare to be teammates. In the latest episode of UNINTERRUPTED’s “The Shop,” LeBron revealed his one rule for Bronny when they’re on the court together next season: no calling him “dad.”
“He cannot call me ‘dad’ in the workplace,” LeBron stated. “At home, I can be ‘dad.’ But on the court, he’s gotta call me ‘2-3,’ ‘Bron,’ or even ‘GOAT’ if he wants to. But he cannot be running down the court saying, ‘Dad, I’m open!’ He cannot do that.”
Bronny, LeBron’s 19-year-old son, was drafted by the Lakers in the second round this summer (No. 55 overall), making them the first father-son duo to play as teammates in NBA history. LeBron mentioned that the adjustment won’t be significant for him, as he already calls his son “Bronny,” but it might be more challenging for Bronny, especially after his rocky Summer League experience.
