[Saba Sports News] After the qualifying session of the British Grand Prix, Charles Leclerc once again criticized himself harshly for poor performance, drawing internal concern from the team. Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur openly stated that the Monaco driver may be suffering from excessive self-criticism, implying that his self-imposed pressure has begun to affect his performance on the track. Within the paddock, Leclerc has always been known for his strict self-expectations, and his performance at Silverstone seems to have triggered a vulnerable point within him. After qualifying, he admitted to the media that he “didn’t do his job properly” and was unsatisfied with his performance in the session. Vasseur pointed out that in recent years, Ferrari’s car performance has been unstable, and the current strategy of the team is to focus on optimizing race pace, which has led to a trade-off in qualifying competitiveness. During an interview, Vasseur mentioned that two years ago he had already told Leclerc to focus on Sunday, which is when points are scored. He also noted that in the 2023 season, Leclerc secured multiple pole positions but failed to convert them into wins, which has led the team to place even greater emphasis on race-day strategies.
