[Saba Sports News] The World Badminton Championships, held in Paris, will start at the end of the month. Malaysian badminton star Lee Zii Jia has confirmed his participation, and he has also signed up for the Hong Kong Open in early September and the China Open in mid-August. This means Lee Zii Jia has recovered from his injuries and is now in good health. At 26 years old, Lee Zii Jia has been struggling with left ankle ligament injuries since last year. He only participated in the Orleans Masters and the All England Open this year before withdrawing due to recurring injuries from the US Open, China Open, and Japan Open. For this World Championships, he will compete under the protection of his ranking, and he can still withdraw before August 12 if needed. If he participates successfully, Lee Zii Jia will join fellow player Liang Jun Hao (ranked 24th) in the men’s singles competition, marking Liang’s debut at the World Championships. Currently ranked 35th in the world, Lee Zii Jia previously competed in Paris during the 2024 Olympics, where he won a bronze medal – a memorable experience for him. Many are watching to see if he can write a new chapter of revival in Paris.
