[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Liverpool recently fell victim to a cyber attack, leading to the suspension of ticket sales for the upcoming season. The Premier League home tickets for the first half of the season were scheduled to be sold on Wednesday to members who attended at least 13 Premier League games at Anfield last season. However, less than an hour after sales began, fans were left disappointed as Liverpool announced the suspension of ticket sales due to a serious technical glitch in the ticketing system. The plans to restart sales later in the day had to be abandoned, and plans to sell tickets to members, which had been approved through voting, were also shelved. Liverpool has sent an email to apologize to the affected fans, explaining that they were targeted by a sustained and sophisticated bot attack, which differed in nature from previous cyber attacks they have encountered. The motivation behind the attack remains unclear, whether it was simply aimed at causing chaos or involved fraudulent attempts to purchase tickets. The ticketing system is operated by a third party, and additional security measures will be implemented before Liverpool announces a new date for ticket sales in the coming weeks.
