[Saba Sports News] The Liverpool club has announced that it will produce a documentary about the legendary Bill Shankly. Set against the backdrop of Liverpool in the 1960s, the documentary will explore a key period in the club’s history. From a struggling team to a globally renowned club, Liverpool now has over 400 million supporters worldwide and is one of the most famous sports clubs. Shankly managed Liverpool from 1959 to 1974, leading the club from the Second Division to the top flight (Old First Division) and winning three league titles, two FA Cups, and one UEFA Cup. His successors, Bob Paisley and Joe Fagan, continued his legacy, leading Liverpool to further glory. In the 10 seasons following Shankly’s retirement, Liverpool won seven league titles and four European championships. The series will be filmed in Liverpool City and Anfield Stadium, produced by top Netflix studio A24 and Box To Box. Bill Shankly’s granddaughter, Karen Gill, will be present to tell the story of her grandfather’s managerial history.
