[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Liverpool wants Anfield to host more concerts to make money. The trend of integrating football and music is becoming increasingly evident, and Liverpool Football Club has been deeply involved in this field for many years. In 2018, Dua Lipa’s performance in front of Liverpool fans at the Kiev Olympic Stadium even led to a special bond between the London singer and the Red Army fans, and to this day, you can still hear Liverpool fans humming the melody of “One Kiss” after significant victories. In June 2019, just two weeks after the team won the Champions League, Anfield opened its doors to music fans. Bon Jovi brought his “This House Is Not For Sale” world tour to Anfield, followed by Take That, who adapted Liverpool’s team anthem “You’ll Never Walk Alone” as the finale of their 30th-anniversary tour. That same summer, American singer Pink’s performance made her return to the venue after several years. The pandemic led to the resumption of Anfield’s music feast only in 2022, with the Rolling Stones’ 60th-anniversary tour being a sold-out event. In 2023, performances were suspended due to the expansion of Anfield Road Stand, but in 2024, Taylor Swift’s “Eras” tour sold out for three consecutive shows. According to a report by the consulting firm Turley Economics, this summer’s series of performances brought over £31 million in benefits to the local economy.
