[Saba Sports News] Recently, Liverpool announced on the club’s official website that its “Red Path” sustainability development plan has won three major awards for its ongoing efforts to build a better future for people, the planet, and communities. The “Red Path” received the Sustainable Governance Award from the European Club Association, recognizing the plan as a fundamental part of the club’s values and its successful response to key sustainability challenges. At the 2024 Sports Positive Awards ceremony, Liverpool was awarded the Education and Training Award, which honors the initiative’s success in integrating sustainability as a way of life into all aspects of club operations. The “Red Path” takes a holistic operational approach, implementing numerous cross-clubs and athlete-centered sustainability training programs covering ethics, equality, diversity, inclusion, environmental sustainability, and community engagement. The “Red Path” also received the Sustainable Packaging Award at the 2024 National Sustainability Awards, where LFC Retail has changed the impact of packaging by replacing single-use plastics, reducing carbon emissions, and eliminating unnecessary packaging.
